On Sat. April 21, Timberline students took time out of their weekend to positively impact the environment. Students participated in the annual Earth Day at Wonderwood Park, where they volunteered to clean up trash in the park, as well as remove invasive plants from the area such as English ivy.
“I decided to partake in this event because I’m concerned about the environment and want to make a difference, even if it’s small,” said sophomore Nika Wolf. Wolf was in charge of taking waste from the invasive plants and transporting it to a location to properly dispose of it.
You can find several students at Timberline that really care about the environment around them. They want to be able to live in a place where it is clean and the plants are originally from the area. Even though it was only a couple hours of work, these students strengthened the environment one plant at a time.
